FAQ

I’m not breaking up with anyone. Is BreakupGirl for me?

I focus on breaking up with relationship patterns that no longer serve you, and promote creating new, positive approaches to help you meet–or keep–the love of your life. Breaking up with people, navigating post-breakup or divorce and even getting your ex back are very common coaching topics too – all of which involve shifting past approaches. Contact me, and let’s set up time to discuss!

Why choose BreakupGirl?

• Experience: More than 20 years of professional experience in communications, human resources, matchmaking and coaching. Plus plenty of life experience! See my bio.
• Method: A life-changing, compassionate approach that guides and supports you step-by-step toward your goals.
• Results: If you’re ready, I’m ready – let’s do this!

Do you work with singles or couples?

Both. As a dating and relationship coach, I support singles and people in relationships who are making significant decisions and/or who find themselves in transition.

Do you work with married or already-partnered clients?

Yes, see above! I focus on individual and relationship growth, in or out of the context of a current relationship.

My relationship is…complicated. We don’t really call it one. Can I still get coaching?

Of course. Many relationships are confusing; coaching can offer clarity.

Do you work with LGBTQ+ clients?

Yes. Love is for everyone.

Do you work with clients with specific religious requirements, preferences or backgrounds?

Yes. Love is for everyone.

Do you work with clients practicing polyamory and/or ethical non-monogamous relationships?

Yes. Love is for everyone.

How old are your clients?

You’re never too old… but you can be too young. Clients must be at least age 18. Client ages most typically range from their 20s to 70s. Love happens over a lifetime: Dating, pre-marital commitments, marriage or long-term partnership, divorce, returning to dating, dating as a single parent, dating after widowhood… we seek connection at every stage.

Is this counseling? Do you take insurance?

Coaching is not counseling or therapy, so insurance companies won’t pay for coaching. However, you may request a Documentation of Service to submit to a Healthcare Savings Account (HSA) for reimbursement; check with your HSA provider to be certain.

What’s the difference between relationship coaching and therapy?

This primary focus in therapy is around mental health. Therapy tends to focus on the origins of issues and how those experiences may still be impacting present behavior and circumstances. Coaching is for individuals who are otherwise well and want to optimize their approach. It is goal-oriented, highly specific to the situation at hand, with the client and coach partnering to develop practical strategies to address both an overall vision and the immediate issue.

I have a specific problem and am interested in custom coaching. What’s next?

Let’s connect! Contact me, and we’ll schedule a Strategy Session to explore it.

How do we meet?

Via Zoom video, audio or phone. Your choice!

What’s your cancellation/missed appointment policy? Can I reschedule?

With 24 hours’ notice, cancellations and rescheduling are free. Contact me, and you can choose your preferred time. With less than 24 hours’ notice, cancelled or missed sessions are charged the full session fee.

Is this confidential?

Yes. I adhere to the International Coaching Federation Code of Ethics. Click here for BreakupGirl’s privacy policy.

I’m dating. Can you guarantee that I’ll meet the love of my life?

No (really, anyone who does is LYING!). My coaching services radically increase the likelihood that you will meet the perfect person, and our testimonials reflect that success! Most clients DO in fact meet a fantastic partner…but rushing only works in football!

I’d like to hear more about new programs and promotions. How can I do that?

Join our email list below (we hate spam and don’t share your information). Looking forward to connecting!

Do you coach on topics other than relationships?

Yes, although it’s no longer my primary focus, my background includes life, career, leadership and executive coaching. Many clients address several aspects of their lives, including friendships, family relationships and other topics. Contact me, and we can tailor sessions to your experience.

I used to date you. Should I be terrified?

We talk about the clients’ problems and goals… not you. But thanks for stalking my website! 😉
